How do I add a new to-do?

Open the Inbox or any of your own lists, type into the box at the top, and press Enter. Each new to-do drops to the bottom of that list. The box only adds to-dos when you're in the Inbox or one of your own lists — in the All, Planned, Completed and Pushed views that same box becomes a search filter instead.

Where does a to-do go when I add it?

It goes into whichever list you're currently viewing. If you're in the Inbox or a special view like All/Planned/Completed, the new to-do lands in the Inbox (no list). If you're inside one of your own lists, it's added to that list. New items always appear at the bottom.

How do I rename a to-do?

Double-click the to-do's text. It turns into an editable box — type the new wording and press Enter to save, or Escape to cancel. Clicking away also saves it.

Click the round checkbox on the left of the row. A tick appears and the to-do moves down into the Completed section. Click the checkbox again to un-tick it — it comes back as open and lands at the bottom of the open list.

Hover over the row and click the trash-can icon on the right. You'll get a quick confirmation pop-up; confirm and it's removed from your to-dos everywhere (this app, your Supernote, and the partner app on the device).

Grab the drag handle (the dotted grip on the far left of a row) and drag the to-do up or down. A green line shows where it will land. The new order is saved and carries over to your Supernote. You can also drag several at once if you've selected multiple rows.

Yes. Drag a to-do by its grip handle onto a list name in the sidebar to move it into that list. You can also drag it onto a different list's section while in the All view.

Can I tick a to-do as done by dragging it?

Yes. Drag an open to-do down past the Completed divider and it gets marked done; drag a completed one back up above the divider to reopen it. Clicking the checkbox does the same thing more directly. The Completed divider only shows if there is at least one completed task.

How do I create a new list?

In the sidebar, open the Lists section and click New List . A box appears — type the name and press Enter. The Lists section opens automatically so you can see your new list right away.

Double-click the list's name in the sidebar (or double-click the list title at the top of the to-do area). Type the new name and press Enter. Escape cancels.

How do I delete a list, and what happens to the to-dos inside it?

Hover over the list in the sidebar and click the × that appears, then confirm. Important: deleting a list permanently deletes every to-do inside it — they are not moved to the Inbox. This matches how your Supernote behaves, where deleting a list deletes its to-dos too. The confirmation warns you and shows how many to-dos will go.

How do I set a due date on a to-do?

Hover over the to-do and click the calendar icon, then pick a day from the little month calendar. The date appears as a chip on the to-do. You can jump straight to today with the "Today" button.

Click the date chip on the to-do to reopen the calendar. Pick a different day to change it, or click "Clear date" to remove the date entirely.

Why is a to-do's date shown in red?

Red means the to-do is overdue — its due date is earlier than today and it isn't done yet. Once you complete it or move the date forward, it's no longer red.

Does setting a due date include a time of day?

Dates are day-based — when you pick a day the app sets it to that morning. There's no separate clock-time picker; you choose the day, not the hour. This matches how Supernote handles tasks.

What is the Inbox?

The Inbox is the home for any to-do that doesn't belong to one of your lists. Anything you add without picking a list — or add from a special view — lands here. It's always the first item in the sidebar.

All shows every open (not-yet-done) to-do, grouped by list — Inbox first, then each of your lists. It does not show completed to-dos, so if everything is ticked off, All looks empty. The box at the top of All is a search filter, not an add box.

Planned shows only the open to-dos that have a due date. If a to-do has no date, it won't appear here. Like All, its top box is a search filter. You can switch between grouping by the list each item comes from or by the task's date (Overdue, Today, Tomorrow and so on) — the sort icon at the top right of the Planned view flips between the two.

What does the Completed view show?

Completed shows every to-do you've ticked off, grouped by the list each one belongs to (Inbox, each list, then "Other" for any whose list was deleted). It's read-only for adding — there's no add box here.

Why can't I type a new to-do in the All, Planned or Completed views?

Those views pull together to-dos from across all your lists, so there's no single list for a new item to go into. In those views the top box becomes a search filter instead. To add a to-do, go to the Inbox or a specific list first.

How do I hide completed to-dos?

In list and Inbox views that have completed items, a "Hide completed" button appears; click it to collapse the Completed section away ("Show completed" brings it back). This setting applies across those folders and is remembered. It doesn't appear in All/Planned (open-only) or the Completed view (done-only).

Yes. In the grouped views (All, Planned, Completed, Pushed) each list heading can be collapsed by clicking it, and there's a "Collapse all"/"Expand all" toggle. Your collapsed sections are remembered.

What does the padlock on a list do?

The padlock makes a list "device-only". The list still syncs normally with your Supernote, but its to-dos are never pushed out to any connected to-do app (like Todoist or Reminders). Use it for anything you want to keep just on your device and in this app.

How do I lock or unlock a list?

Hover over the list in the sidebar and click the padlock icon next to its name. A closed amber padlock means locked; click it again to unlock. A short message confirms the change. (The padlock only appears on real, synced lists — a brand-new list gets one once it's synced.)

How can I tell at a glance that a list is locked, and why is the push button missing on its to-dos?

A locked list shows an amber closed-padlock pinned next to its name in the sidebar (unlocked lists only show a faint open padlock on hover). Inside the list, its name carries a small amber lock, and each to-do shows a small amber padlock where the push button would normally be — by design, since a locked list never pushes to your task apps.

If I lock a list, does it stop syncing with my Supernote?

No. Locking only stops the list from being pushed out to external to-do apps. It still syncs fully with your Supernote and the partner app on the device.

I un-ticked a completed to-do — why did it move to the bottom instead of back where it was?

That's intentional. When you reopen a completed to-do it's placed at the end of the open list rather than its old position, so reopened items don't quietly slip back into the middle of your list.

Does the order I arrange to-dos in carry over to my Supernote?

Yes — the per-to-do order you set by dragging is saved and honored on the device. (The order of the lists themselves in the sidebar is only arranged locally in this app and isn't synced.)

My change didn't stick / I got a "Couldn't…" message — what happened?

Accepted Answer

The app updates the screen instantly and saves in the background. If the save fails (for example you're offline), it quietly undoes the change on screen and shows a short message like "Couldn't rename" or "Couldn't delete". Try again once you're back online.

Something looks out of sync — how do I refresh?

Accepted Answer

In the sidebar's Settings section use Reset from cloud . It opens a page explaining what a reset does — the Supernote Cloud holds the master copy, and resetting reloads this app fresh from it, discarding any unsynced local changes still in flight. Click the Reset from cloud… button on that page; there's a confirmation pop-up before anything happens. ---
