What is the Relay app, exactly?

It mirrors the To-Do area of your Supernote (the same to-dos and lists you see in the Supernote Partner app and on your device), keeps them two-way in sync with your Supernote account and device, and can hand those to-dos off to task apps you already use — Todoist, Apple Reminders, Things 3, TickTick, Google Tasks, Asana and more. In short: it brings your Supernote to-dos onto your Mac and lets you push them out to other apps.

Is this an official Supernote app?

No. It's a separate companion app that signs in with your own Supernote account and reads/writes your to-dos through Supernote's cloud, the same way the official apps do. It works alongside the official Supernote Partner app and your device rather than replacing them. Its main focus is to extend the usability of your tasks into your own ways of working.

How do I sign in?

Sign in with your normal Supernote account. The app shows Supernote's login page right inside the window. You type your email, click Send code , and Supernote emails you a one-time verification code. You enter that code and click Login . There's no separate password to set up in this app, and the app never sees or stores your password.

Why does it ask for an emailed code instead of a password?

That's how Supernote's own sign-in works when you log in from a new place: it sends a one-time verification code to your email to confirm it's really you. The app simply shows you Supernote's login page, so you complete it the same way you would on Supernote's website. This way your account stays protected — your password is never used or seen, and to log in someone would need access to your email account.

Can I sign up for a Supernote account from inside this app?

No. The app hides the "Register account" option on the login page on purpose. You need an existing Supernote account — create one through Supernote's official website or app first, then sign in here.

Do I need my Supernote device nearby or connected to sign in?

No. Sign-in only needs your Supernote account (email plus the emailed code) and an internet connection, because it goes through Supernote's cloud. Connecting to your physical device over your local network is a separate, optional step the app handles afterward. This optional step is only required if you want your notes to be attached to the task so you have them as reference later.

Is my Supernote password safe? Does the app store it?

The login page looks a bit different from Supernote's website. Why?

It is genuinely Supernote's login page, just tidied to fit the app: the title reads "Authenticate with Supernote", the page is pinned to English, and a few extras (register button, agreement row, language picker) are hidden so you can focus on entering your email and code. The actual sign-in is unchanged.

What happens the very first time I open the app?

It opens to a small sign-in window showing Supernote's login page. You sign in with your email and the emailed code. The moment sign-in succeeds, the window grows into the full to-do view and starts loading your to-dos and lists. After that, it begins looking for your Supernote device on your network and lets you connect task apps if you want.

Do I have to sign in every time I open the app?

No. Once you've signed in, the app remembers your Supernote session and reopens straight into your to-dos next time. You'll only see the login screen again if you sign out or if your Supernote session expires.

When I reopen the app it shows a spinner that says "Loading your to-dos…" — is that normal?

Yes. If you're already signed in, the app skips the login screen and shows that spinner while it fetches your current to-dos and lists. It normally clears in a few seconds. If it ever takes too long, the app shows recovery buttons (Retry, Reload, and Sign in again) so you're never stuck.

What does the app do with my to-dos once I'm signed in?

Can I use more than one Supernote account?

The app is signed in to one Supernote account at a time. To switch accounts, sign out (which clears the current session) and sign in again with the other account's email. Each account's data is kept separate.

How do I sign out?

Use the Sign out button in the top-right of the app's top bar (shown on the to-do list view). Signing out clears your saved Supernote session on this computer and returns you to the sign-in screen. Your to-dos themselves stay safe in your Supernote account and on your device — signing out here doesn't delete them.

I clicked Send code but nothing on screen changed — did a code actually get sent?

It usually did. After you click Send code the button locks for a few seconds (so a stray double-click can't accidentally invalidate the code already on its way), and the app watches for Supernote's confirmation — a green "A code has been sent to your email — enter it below" message above the code box. If no confirmation shows up within a few seconds, you'll see a neutral "Check your email — use Resend if nothing arrives" note instead, so you're never left guessing. Check your inbox (and spam), then type the code into the box below the email field. The button flips to "Resend code" with a countdown before you can request another.

Question 16

I get a sliding puzzle / drag-the-slider challenge during sign-in. What is that?

That's Supernote's own anti-bot check on their login page. Just drag the slider to complete the puzzle; once you solve it, Supernote sends your code and you can carry on. The app can't and won't solve it for you — it's meant to be done by a person.

Question 17

The Send code or Login button looks greyed out / won't click. Why?

Accepted Answer

The buttons unlock as you go. Send code stays dimmed until you've typed a valid email address, and it also locks for a few seconds right after you click it — that's deliberate, so a double-click can't invalidate the code that's already on its way. Login stays dimmed until you've requested a code and typed one in. The code box itself only appears after you click Send code. Fill in the matching field (or wait out the brief lock) and the button becomes clickable.

Question 18

It says "Sign-in was cancelled" with a "Sign in to Supernote" button. What happened?

You closed or backed out of the login page before finishing, or sign-in timed out. Just click "Sign in to Supernote" to bring the login page back and complete it. ---
