Refund Policy
Effective date: 12 July 2026
Relay — an unofficial macOS companion app for Supernote devices
This Refund Policy explains when a refund is and isn’t available for a Relay licence. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. By purchasing a Relay licence you agree to our Terms & Conditions and to this Refund Policy.
In this policy, “Relay”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Kioku, the independent developer of the Relay app. “You” means the person who buys or uses a Relay licence.
1. Try Relay free before you buy
Relay is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — and every feature is available during a free trial before you pay anything. We strongly encourage you to use the free trial to confirm that Relay works with your Supernote, your Mac, and the task apps you use before buying a licence. Because a licence is a digital product delivered instantly, the trial is your chance to check it’s right for you.
2. Digital goods — general position
A Relay licence is an intangible digital product. Once a licence key has been issued and used to activate the app, a purchase is generally final and non-refundable — except where this policy says otherwise (sections 3 and 4) and except where you have statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded (section 7).
3. Our fair promise if Supernote changes
Relay is independent and not affiliated with Supernote or Ratta. It works by signing in with your own Supernote account, so it depends on how Supernote handles sign-in and syncing. If Supernote ever changes that and Relay stops working, we will do everything we can to release an update that gets it working again.
In the unlikely event a change cannot be worked around — for instance, if Supernote chooses not to allow it — the following applies:
- Bought within the last 2 months: if we are unable to fix it, you may request a full refund of what you paid for your licence.
- Purchased more than 2 months ago: the price reflects this small risk, and you make the purchase knowing it is a possibility, so, unfortunately, a refund will not be available. We will still do our best to bring Relay back.
4. Technical problems and defects
If your licence key doesn’t arrive, doesn’t activate, or the app has a genuine defect that stops it working as described, get in touch and we will put it right — by re-sending your key, helping you activate, or issuing a corrected build. If we genuinely cannot make a purchased licence work for you and the problem is on our side, we will refund you.
5. When a refund isn’t available
Outside sections 3 and 4, and subject to your statutory rights, we don’t offer refunds for:
- a change of mind after purchase, where the free trial was available to you first;
- dissatisfaction with features, behaviour, or limitations that were apparent during the free trial;
- a change you make to your own setup — for example, a task app you no longer use, or a Mac that no longer meets the requirements;
- issues caused by a third-party service (Supernote, Google, Apple, Todoist, TickTick, Things, Asana) changing or discontinuing its own product, beyond the promise in section 3.
6. How to request a refund
Use our contact form at relay.kioku.uk/contact and tell us the email address you bought with and what’s gone wrong. We aim to reply within a few working days. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method; how long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider.
7. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy removes or limits any legal rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded — including any rights under the laws of the country in which you live. This policy sits alongside those rights, not instead of them.
8. Contact
