Can I set the app to push automatically, or is it always manual?

There's a Scheduling setting with Manual and Auto modes. In Manual, nothing pushes until you do it. In Auto, eligible tasks are pushed for you on a schedule (the sidebar shows a quiet indicator and a "last pushed" time). Either way the same rules apply — only open, not-yet-pushed, unlocked tasks go.
