I get "Connect a task app first" or "Pushing is paused" — what's wrong?

"Connect a task app first" means no app is connected yet — go to Settings → Task apps and connect Todoist, Reminders, or Google Tasks. "Pushing is paused" means every connected app has its "Push tasks" switch turned off — open Task apps and turn it back on for the app(s) you want.
